Nights at airports

A dear friend and colleague whom we hopefully soon have blogging here too has been stuck at an airport all night, and of course she teamed up with other women to organize the basics like bed, blanket and coffee. And now finally she’s got the boarding pass to get home (we do have a Skype conference with her today, not sure how that will play out though ). Life is full of surprises so how the hell can we produce anything with a plan?!

From the Ferry

Yesterday, I was invited to the Westnorwegian producers for a little speech on the international documentary business. I had a lot of fun and they were the sweetest hosts. Now I’m on a ferry (it’s complicated to get around here in West Norway) on my way to the airport.

I didn’t really do anything MOJO here but I met many women that made my brain go ca-ching ca-ching ca-ching, target audience! One who’d left her stressful producer’s job to raise sheep, one who was running the show like an empress, with grace and gratitude, beautiful, a younger woman who is fighting her way though sexism, friendship and creativity… Oh I want them all in our universe guys, we have to do it right so we can get these to be there with us!

What pleasure it is when thoughts and dreams start being concrete. And when real and really smart people from different places in the world want to join our growing project. Now it is (AGAIN) time to look for funding for our development. We just have to make sure that the proportions of work for funding fit the actual size of grants…gh
